A different kind of scam is the corporate kind. I think it is also called white collar scam but I might be wrong.
In any case the scam linked on the following article talks how big banks and huge corporations suck us dry in regards to oil use. The article can be found here. Just because they can dictate legislation, doesn't mean that it is right or ethical.
The only solution to this problem in my opinion is for us to stop using oil and its byproducts. Use alternatives as extensively as we can. You don't have to do it cause someone else says so. Do it cause you don't want to be victims. Neither for 1.000.000$ nor for 50 cents.
