  3. no problem.
I would suggest though to stretch your contact with him so that you actually receive his fake email payments and have a unique personal experience.

  4. Hi Nicholas,

I'm in contact with this guy right now. He's trying to buy a TV. Can I mess with him or is that a bad idea?

    Thanks

  5. I do not recommend messing with these people, especially if they know things about you. think for example that they might be able to retrieve information about you using your email address online.
In other scambusting forums there are stories about such things, and they always mention that you must be extra careful. All I can recommend, is to "accept" to post the item to him, and let him pay via email just to see how it works, but do not under any circumstances send the item or any other personal info

  6. I have also just been scammed into sending him a laptop. I actually sent it before thinking something was wrong. After i had sent the tracking order to "paypal" i got a confirmation saying paypal's systems were down and would take over 24 hours for the money to now clear.
It was that that got me thinking something was not right, and then i found this thread that confirmed my suspitions. I was fortunate enough to drive to the local parcelforce depo and ask for help at 21:00! They were the most helpful people i have ever met and helped me early into the morning in tracking it down and eventually getting it Returned to sender status on it.
The address and and name they used for me are :-

    Tade Stringer
    48-52 flat 17 park street
    LU1 3HP
    Luton
    United Kindom

I lost twenty pounds from posting but learnt a valuable lesson as i thought i was good at seeing scams. One last tip is that they offered to pay me more then i asked for and a large amount of money for the shipping (£50), just think if its too good to be true ... it will be!

  7. Hey John,
thanks for sharing this info with the blog.
and I am glad your "adventure" ended in a good way for you. Unfortunately other people are not as lucky.
It would be nice if you could post the email addresses they used to contact you if those are different than the ones posted above.

  8. Yeah sure they are using mcdonal.k@hotmail.com to contact me at first. And then used the same shipment verification to send the paypal stuff to me. I did get very lucky and persevere if you find out it is a scam try everything in your power to stop the parcel! Better yet dont be stupid like me just dont send it :). If anyone would like a copy of the fake paypal email just contact me through this but its the same as the one above.
