  5. I have also received an email from kelvin9999s@gmail.com wanting to purchase my pram, but can only pay via paypal. He said he would arrange for an agent to collect the pram once he had sent the payment, i told him that i would not let them collect it until the funds had been transferred from paypal into my bank and had cleared fully. He is still willing to continue with this scam!!!

  6. You can let him send you the paypal payment if you have one, if only to see what kind of email that is. According to my experience it usually is a poor copy which says that the funds will be cleared after proof of postage. This is a SCAM!! To my experience paypal does not do that.

  7. Just had kelvin9999s@gmail.com trying to buy a bike from me. He says he's a Oceania now. I sent him a money request through Paypal and he emailed me to say that he was just about to pay it when he had trouble with his pick-up agents in Italy and wanted me to pay some money through western union money transfer. Needless to say, that's not going to happen. Thanks for this site.

  8. Well i'm going to play him at his own game, i have just issued him with an invoice through paypal, let's see if he pays through the invoice!!!

  9. You are all welcome.
    I am glad its helpful.
I would suggest though, not to send paypal requests. Just provide the paypal email for them to send the payment and see how that works out. be cautious though cause they may have new tricks.

  10. What a surprise kelvin9999s@gmail.com has not paid through the invoice and hasn't emailed me since!! Told me he was an Oceania too and that he's 95% leaf. Thanks for the site and to everyone that has posted their comments, lets hope it stops him from scamming the next person.

  11. No surprise there indeed.
It will stop some people from getting scammed, but not everyone unfortunately.

  13. I am glad this blog is helpful.

Craigslist is much like a knife you know,
you use it to slice bread or slice throats.
In the end, you choose how you use the tools technology and science provides.

avoiding scammers is not difficult if you keep your eyes open :)
    take care

  17. I've just had an email from kelvin9999s@gmail.com wanting to buy my caravan awning for his dad. There was something about his email that didn't ring true - so glad I did a search. This is what he says: Thanks for mailing back,i am an Oceania and i am buying this for Dad, i am at sea right now, I can only pay through paypal at the moment as i dont have access to my bank account online, but i have it attached to my paypal account, and this is why i insisted on using paypal to pay,all i will need is your paypal email address to make the payments, and if you dont have a paypal account yet,its pretty easy to set one up at www.paypal.co.uk,i wil be expecting your email.I have a pick up agent that will come for the pick up after payments.I will like to have communicate and discuss this via Phone but i am 95% Deaf and i do use hearing piece so that was why i have prefer to communicate more through Mail ...So kindly get back to asap...i need to see more photos also and i will like to know the last asking price.
    Stay Blessed.

  20. hi nicholas the email they been using is laradominic001@gmail.com he keeps asking for my paypal address which i wont say

    ReplyDelete
  21. In my experience, they only send fake paypal emails which are quite easy to identify. If you have a look around the blog there are examples.
I always give them a paypal address specifically made for that purpose, in the hope that one of them will be a legitimate buyer.
All hope has been in vain so far...

I have nothing in my account and he does not have my password. I am tracking my paypal daily and there are no transactions. Am I vulnerable? Richard

  33. @ richard
to my experience they do not hack into your paypal accounts. At least they haven't in mine so I would guess you are safe. But keep a vigilant eye to emails claiming to come from paypal and telling you you have funds that will be released after you post the item. That is a scam!

  44. Latest emailaddress used for this scam: lincon.martini001@gmail.com
lincon.martini@gmail.com was already posted here, same story with many different email-addresses.

I think it is something like disputing a payment never made through Paypal, or just hoping someone sends the goods without waiting all the way through for the payment. Or they may want to switch to Western Union, or equivalent who can withdraw money after it has arrived on your account even!

Thanks for mailing back,i am an Oceanographer and i am buying this for Dad, i am at sea right now, I can only pay through PayPal at the moment as i don't have access to my bank account online, but i have it attached to my PayPal account, and this is why i insisted on using PayPal to pay,all i will need is your PayPal email address to make the payments, and if you don't have a paypal account yet,its pretty easy to set one up at www.paypal.com.nl ,i will be expecting your email.I have a pick up agent that will come for the pick up after payments.I will like to have communicate and discuss this via Phone but i am 95% Deaf and i do use hearing piece so that was why i have prefer to communicate more through Mail ...So kindly get back to asap.

  49. Transaction originated from Craigs List.

I almost fell for this and I'm really glad I checked with PayPal to find out that I too was sent Phishing Email from these email accounts: jessimills02@gmail.com and rmatangi@sbcglobal.net using Paypal's Logo and copied other information off PayPals Website using this FAKE email address for PayPal (service_paypal@ officeemail.net),

These people wanted me to wire transfer money to their

    Moving Agent: Leonard meek
    kansas city, MO.

Folks all I can say is - When you see the words: Send us the Money or Wire us Money thru Western Union, in any email .......they will try to claim to you that they did send money to your Paypal Account, If you don't see the Money their in your account, then they did not send anything to you at all. Heed this warning.

Its a pity to see money launry mules on countries like the UK or the US. I guess thats a sideeffect of the current economy.
